Blum Shapiro has long been an active citizen in our community.
Our firm is a proud contributor to and sponsor of many Connecticut
charitable, arts and civic organizations.
Partners and staff donate their time serving as board members and in
top leadership roles in over 50 organizations including the United Way
of the Capital Area, American Red Cross, World Affairs Council, Greater
Waterbury YMCA, Greater Hartford Arts Council, Connecticut Public
Broadcasting, Aurora Women and Girls Foundation, Boys and Girls Club,
Habitat for Humanity, The Connecticut Forum, Immaculate Conception
Shelter, The Thomas Merton Center, Housatonic Community College
Foundation, Family Services Woodfield, Connecticut Burns Foundation and
The Bridge Family Center.
As a firm, we conduct annual employee fund drives for the United Way
and the Greater Hartford Arts Council. These efforts have generated
nearly $50,000 each of the past two years. Other activities have
included volunteer days for Junior Achievement, Habitat for Humanity,
school-year long participation in Big Brothers/Big Sisters and holiday
food and gift drives. Through the Blum Shapiro Foundation, we donate
over $100,000 to worthy organizations on an annual basis.
